Feedler Insights

• A new entry at the root of Settings: facts from your syncs, feeds and settings, each with one suggestion and a button to the right place
• Cards for feeds that no longer exist, keep refusing readers or went quiet, for full caching you rarely read, for thumbnails stretching your syncs, for your reading hours, your theme, your cache budget, for prefetch you may not need, and more

Reading

• Switching articles is one animation everywhere: tap another article in the list on iPad and Mac, or go to the next or previous one on iPhone. The current article slides away, the next slides in, and a small “Fetching article” indicator bridges the gap when it still has to load
• The first article you open on iPad and Mac arrives the same way
• Filter bar (Favorites / Unread / All): easier to tap, and you can now press and slide to pick a filter

Sync

• Find missing thumbnails: on by default, off in one toggle, globally, per account or per feed. When a feed ships no image, Feedler looks one up on the article page, which is the longest part of a big account's sync
• Feed Info shows how many of a feed's latest articles came with an image, and how many Feedler found itself
• Thumbnail lookups run on more lanes in parallel, so big accounts sync faster even with the setting on
• Sync issues tell “Blocked by site” (sites whose protection refuses feed readers) apart from a real server error, with the HTTP status
• Feeds dating their articles “2026-08-31 08:35:31” parse again
• Articles you read while a sync is running stay read

Settings & app

• A new “Light & Dark” app icon: the Feedler mark on a light ground that turns black in dark appearance
• Prefetch articles no longer locks itself and no longer changes Default View on its own; the caching rows simply follow it
• Every article keeps the reason its cache last failed (network, refused by the site, or empty page), so Insights can tell you which sites won't hand over their pages
• A “Write a Review” row at the bottom of Settings, which will work once Feedler is on the App Store

Trending Stories

• A new smart list gathers the topics several of your feeds are covering at the same time, grouped into stories — the covers stack up, the sources line up, and unread counts stay live
• Built on a fast on-device algorithm — not AI — so it works on every iPhone, iPad and Mac, understands 13 languages, and can even group stories across languages
• Open a story to read its articles one by one — the story stays put while you read it, and marking articles read can hop you straight to the next story
• On devices with Apple Intelligence, one tap summarizes the whole story — in your language
• Swipe to delete a story you're done with (with Undo) — and restore deleted stories any time from Settings
• Make it yours in Settings › Trending Stories: time window, minimum number of sources, or hide the list entirely
• After each sync, Feedler quietly tells you how many new stories appeared

Feeds Discover

New sync services

Feed icons

• Choose the shape of your feed icons — Round or Square — in Settings › Appearance; round is the new default
• Every icon is analyzed individually for the round shape: full logos crop into a clean disc with a uniform breathing ring, light glyphs stay fitted and are never cropped
• Applied everywhere icons appear: the feeds list, article lists, story cards, feed settings
• The icon picker got honest — only icons that actually load are suggested, with more real choices per site and the best one preselected
• Not happy with a feed's icon? Changing it takes two taps

Parser customization

• Long-press any image while reading to hide it — by exact URL (that image disappears from every article of the feed, whatever size the site serves it at) or by CSS class (perfect for promo slots that change picture but keep their styling)
• A new Hidden images list in Parser Customization keeps them all in one place, easy to remove
• Rules now apply themselves: change or remove any rule and already-cached articles re-parse automatically — no cache clearing, no re-downloading
• Sturdier rules: one malformed CSS entry no longer disables the others, bare words just work (promo finds .promo), and comma-separated selectors become separate rules
• Hide content now catches lists, figures, quotes and tables too
• There's much more you can tune per feed — the FAQ walks through all of it

Sync & feeds

• OPML files now open straight in Feedler — from Mail, Files or AirDrop, choose "Open in Feedler" and the import preview appears (more on OPML in the FAQ)
• Feeds in the earliest RSS dialects now work, and a single oddly-formatted date no longer rejects a whole feed — several long-running news and science sites benefit
• Feeds that only answer over http can finally be added
• Reddit feeds are more dependable: older URL forms are recognized and legacy addresses are corrected automatically
• Stopping a sync now asks for confirmation — and the Activity Log shows each sync's duration, with cancelled syncs telling you exactly where they stopped
• Mark all as read gives its little haptic buzz from every surface

Website

• feedlerapp.com grew alongside the app: a new blog, a press page, and brand-new FAQ sections — pricing & subscription, Trending Stories, Feeds Discover and more

Also

• Fixed two crashes: Mark all as read on iOS 27, and a rare one while preparing extremely convoluted pages

Image galleries

• Articles with a run of consecutive images now group them as a tidy gallery grid — and a simple pair of images sits side by side instead of stacking full width
• New: Stack Galleries — galleries fold into a single elegant pile of cards with a photo counter; tap the pile to browse every photo fullscreen. You choose when it kicks in (from 3 images, from 6, or never) in Settings › Article, and switching applies instantly to existing articles
• Tap any gallery image to open a fullscreen carousel: swipe from photo to photo, pinch to zoom, and land right back where you were in the article
• Portrait screenshots display as a sensible centered card instead of stretching across the page

Animations

• Switching feeds sweeps the new article list in with a short elastic drift and a real bounce — the lists crossfade into each other and the feed header rides the same spring
• Changing filters uses the same gentle reveal, with the header staying perfectly still
• The rolling wave when a list settles was re-tuned frame by frame — one smooth motion down the whole column
• Mark all as read and hop to the next feed: the header animates along instead of snapping
• Pull down at the top of an article for a gentle elastic stretch — header, image and text ease apart and settle back with a native bounce
• The feeds list now updates quietly while you read — no more rows visibly collapsing when you come back to it

Reading

• Scrolling long articles is far smoother on iPhone and iPad — images no longer nudge the page around as they load, and scrolling starts instantly, never waiting on a gesture
• iPad: the content no longer jumps when the toolbar reappears at the end of an article
• Reaching the end of an article can no longer get stuck advancing to the same article

Sync & accounts

• Feedbin: renaming a feed as you add it now syncs the name to the server — it shows everywhere, not just in Feedler
• Feedbin: articles you had already read in another app are no longer skipped on import
• A freshly added feed stays visible in the list while it completes its first sync
• The "Slow Connection" prompt only appears when the connection is genuinely slow — no more false alarms on fast networks because a website was having a bad day

Also

• Galleries on some sites no longer repeat the same photo at several sizes — less scrolling, less data
• Stray leftover section headings at the very end of some articles are cleaned up
• Articles that embed the same video twice now play it once

Article Source

• New per-feed setting in Parser Customization: Source — choose Feed Content and Feedler reads articles straight from the feed, never fetching the page
• Made for paid subscriber feeds (404 Media, and blogs on Ghost or Substack), newsletters through services like Kill the Newsletter, and self-hosted setups that already deliver full articles
• Feedler recognizes feeds that look like they carry the full article and suggests the switch right in the article — dismiss it once and it never asks again for that feed
• Kill the Newsletter feeds are set up out of the box

Newsletters

• Newsletters delivered through feeds are rebuilt as clean articles: real headings, no cramped email layout, no giant empty spaces or stray tracking images
• The article list shows the newsletter sender's name under the title

Sharing

• Send Article: share the entire article by email — from the article's "…" menu or the share sheet, with clean readable formatting in any mail app, light and dark

• Full-screen reading on iPhone: the buttons at the top of the article fade away as you scroll down and come back as soon as you scroll up

Sync

• Auto Sync now matches what each platform really does: a simple Never or Background choice on iPhone and iPad, precise intervals on Mac — each platform keeps its own setting

• Mac: Settings opens in a real, movable window (⌘,)
• Mac: fixed a slowdown that built up over long sessions

• Right-clicking a feed or article now highlights the row the menu belongs to
• The article you are reading no longer disappears from the list or sidebar while filters update

Reddit & Discovery Improvements

• Reddit is far more reliable: adding respects Reddit's rate limits (a pending feed can still be added and fills up on the next sync), and typing r/apple is enough to follow a subreddit
• Smarter feed discovery: sites group into expandable cards, regional domains are suggested, RSS directory pages are scraped

• iCloud account: robustness fixes for multiple device scenarios

A faster, smarter sync — especially on slow networks

• Sync now saves article text first and fetches images afterwards, so your articles are ready to read much sooner
• Images keep downloading quietly in the background, with a progress indicator and a one-tap cancel
• New image download setting: Never, Smart or Always — globally, per account or per feed. Smart watches your connection and checks with you before starting a heavy download on a slow network
• A sync can now be cancelled at any time
• Smarter disk usage: the cache limit now applies to article content only, and thumbnails get their own separate cap — the oldest ones are cleaned up automatically and simply reload from the network when you're online

A much richer Activity Log

• Every sync now records exactly what it did: new articles, articles cached, and images downloaded with their total size and duration
• The detail page breaks the images down feed by feed, so you can see which feeds fill your cache
• Images skipped on a slow network are counted separately from failures, so you always know why something isn't cached yet
• Cancelled syncs are now marked as such in the history, and unreachable self-hosted servers leave a trace too

• Sync All Accounts: refresh every account in one tap, from the account hub or a long press on an account card

Feeds & discovery

• YouTube playlists can now be added — paste the playlist page or its share link and Feedler finds the feed; channel links resolve faster too

• Old http:// feed addresses are upgraded automatically, and OPML imports check every feed's reachability with a status badge before you confirm

Sync

• Fixed a crash loop that could require reinstalling the app when a feed appeared twice — the app now repairs itself at launch
• Removed all default import and cleanup limits: new feeds import their full history, and nothing is deleted or marked as read unless you explicitly choose a limit ("No limit" is the new default)
• Accounts with very large unread backlogs now sync correctly and much faster
• The sync progress bar now always completes smoothly to 100% and never jumps backwards

New settings

• Preferred Summary Language: choose whether AI summaries follow the article's language or your device's
• Mark as Read on Open (on by default) and Mark as Read on Scroll (off by default)

Reading & feeds

• Feed suggestions are now verified before being shown — no more picking a suggestion only to hit "No feed found at this URL", and suggestion titles are cleaner

Adding feeds

• Discovery now probes the exact address you paste, path included, so more sites and pages resolve to their real feed on the first try — including awkward ones like Reddit URLs
• Fixed adding Squarespace sites, which used to be rejected
• Adding a feed is noticeably faster, and a new "Import OPML" shortcut lives directly in the + menu

Reddit

• Multi-subreddit accounts improved: feeds are named r/<sub> by default, articles read cleanly in Reader View, and icons are reliable
• Reddit strictly rate-limits its RSS feeds (roughly one request per minute per device) since June 2026. Feedler now spaces out and automatically retries Reddit requests, so Reddit feeds refresh more slowly and mostly in the background — a Reddit restriction, not a bug

• Sharper feed icons: hosted accounts (Inoreader, Feedbin, NewsBlur…) now show real site icons instead of blurry placeholders, and the icon picker's suggestion matches the one actually in use
